ACP

The ACP is a federally funded program that provides income-eligible households with a discount of $30 a month or $360 a year on their internet service bill. This program was created in response to the many households that didn’t have access to the internet and couldn’t afford internet service when children were asked to learn remotely during the pandemic.

Applying for this program is a two-step process – being determined eligible according to income guidelines (less than 200% of poverty) and selecting an internet service provider. Both of these steps are made easy based on:

  • An applicant’s prior enrollment in qualifying federal programs (i.e., SNAP, MaineCare or Medicaid, free or reduced-price lunch, etc.),
  • Most internet service providers’ participation in the ACP, and
  • CCFC’s free assistance to Oxford County residents in enrolling in the program.
