Title Fund Information

Title Fund Projects

Title I

Title I monies are used to hire staff (teachers and ed techs) who provide support in mathematics and reading to students at Woodstock Elementary, Crescent Park Elementary, and Telstar Middle School.

These funds are also used to support students in a variety of ways when families are temporarily homeless or displaced from their homes.

Title V

Title V monies will be used to support family engagement and professional development. This will be through a variety of organizations. Examples of such supports are:

  • Monthly coaching at a district or school level to assist staff in identifying trends in absenteeism

  • Assisting schools with implementing tiered strategies proven effective at reducing chronic absenteeism

  • Assisting with a review of school policies and practices around absenteeism

  • Identifying causes of chronic absenteeism and develop solutions to address those causes.

Note: Chronic Absenteeism is defined by the State of Maine as any student who is absent (excused or unexcused) for more than 10% of the school year. For a student enrolled for the entire year, this means 18 or more absences.

Public Feedback on our Title I and V grants is being accepted until July 29, 2025. You can access that feedback form here.
